Something to the Moon Akin

We see the moon as it rises up the sky
And journeys across the ocean of space;
It shines not its own, while passing by;
But reflects the sun upon its face.

And in the heavens, it illumines the night,
With its lustre, from lumens of borrowed light.

We journey here with others of our race,
We shine from the Lord, the Light of the World;
We're made by God to rise to a holy place:
And enter the gates of heaven pearled,
Our souls illumined with His holy grace.

We're something to the moon akin;
What we shine, didn't with us begin.
